The hotel's location near the river made exploring easy. I easily accessed the Sanjo train station and Tozai subway line. Breakfast included many options. It offered Japanese and Western selections. The staff provided restaurant recommendations, really helpful, and the laundry area was a great convenience for me.
I did find that some basic items were not in the room. I needed to get amenities from the concierge.

inconsistent cleaningweak air conditioning
the room i stayed in, a superior twin room, had some issues. cleaning wasn't always consistent. one day they forgot to replenish the shampoo, annoying. also, the air conditioning struggled to keep up during the day so it was kinda warm.
i found the breakfast buffet had diverse options. the onsen was a relaxing amenity after sightseeing (it had two baths each for men and women). our room was spacious compared to other japanese hotels. the location along the river was convenient.
the frosted windows in the room made it feel slightly claustrophobic, a minor drawback.
